It’s actually the job of a lecturer to make the class interesting by involving more of themselves in it and also make it lively so that education is imparted but has a different meaning to it altogether. This can be done by including different teaching techniques and making the lectures interactive, this is what I believe lecturers should do but there are also some fun ways in which you can enjoy your lectures without getting caught. 

Learn a new language

Languages are always useful. Knowing a language that isn’t your native tongue can go a long way in helping you. With a new language comes a new culture, a completely different set of people living in totally diverse social, economic, political conditions from you. Besides if you are harbouring dreams of ever traveling the world, then knowing a foreign language can come in handy. It can also be used among a group of friends who in turn will learn the language and can also communicate secret things which only the people who know the language will understand apart from them. So it is a cool way to carry yourself and being a multi linguistic person and at the same time also beneficial as it will definitely help in future prospects.

Pen a poem/story

Write down every other word that the lecturer says mix and match those words into a rhythmic poem and recite it to your friends.this will help you improve your creativity and imagination and you never know you might just turn out to be a great poet. Likewise try a story.. Maybe your biography? Bring out the writer in you! 

Doodle it

While doodling might not exactly qualify as interesting for you, it actually helps to increase your brain activity. An effective way to use doodling is to listen to the lecture and create an image or a sketch on the paper which represents the matter of subject being taught it can be anything like the precipitation process or the metamorphosis or anything of that sort this not only allows you to pass time but also helps you learn.

Turn on the volume 

What keeps us more entertained than listening songs in class! Store your Ipod with your favourites and get lost in your own world. If you're clever enough try a movie ;)

Engage yourself with a Book

If you're a book person, this is the best way to while away time. For others, get started! Cultivate this habit as it comes with a lot of benefits... A book is the best companion you could have. Borrow novels from the library and dig into reading! 

Game time

Play time is fun time! Get your friends involved in this activity and beat the boredom. There are a list of games you could try playing during class including word puzzles, guess the celebrity, hand cricket and more! Use your creativity and come up with new interesting games that you could make use of during the lectures. 

Send out notes

This is an ancient way to pass time in class. Write a note to your friend during class, ask for a response and build up the conversation! Nobody else keeps you interesting than your friends. What's more those are memories... Read it after years and relive your life! 

Take a quick nap

A little extra sleep never did anyone any harm till date. We might as well use the generous amount of time spent in lectures to catch up on that much deserved beauty sleep/power nap. Apart from that, in the hurry to attend that class you might not have had time to recover from the hangover of last night. After all college is all about the night life right? Sleep has a lot of benefits and we don’t want sleep said no student ever. Sleep helps improve concentration, memory and retain information, it also helps in keeping the mind and body fresh. This tip always works in a class which has a large strength but then one should be careful as some teachers do consider it as disrespect to them.

These always come in handy with those teachers who are strict and it can save you from an awful embarrassment in the class as they look very real.

Dream Big

Daydreaming is an art! Well this always helps you can just keep staring at the teacher's face and while away to glory think about your crush in class or if you are already dating find out ways to keep him/her happy or if you are too intellectual think that you are the last man existing on earth, this is your only chance to save mankind.

These are some ways to pass time in the class should give these a try. Stay safe folks and remember “Time once gone never comes back” so do pay attention in the class but you can always make it fun by using these methods and request your teachers and lecturers to make it more interesting by including different teaching tools.
