How to clear Engineering : Tips to clear the semester
Each one of
us chose engineering for different reasons. Most of them fell into it because
of their parents, some due to passion and a few had no idea. Whatsoever may be the reason; we are here now
to become one fine Engineer and let’s all try to enjoy engineering while
becoming one!
Here are a
few tips to score in your semester exams:
Listen:
- Are you the one who tops the bunkers list? Missing out lectures? You can hit on the YouTube anytime where you have skilled people explaining about the topic.
- I know it is tough to listen to the boring lectures, instead find an alternate which keeps you connected with the topic.
- During the lectures, prepare your own notes for the important topics. That will help you understand things better. Also a formula chart of your own will help!
Not everyone
studies on a daily basis. If you do, good for you! Well, I didn’t. Engineering makes
you an expert in “last minute preparations”.
We all plan
a schedule to prepare during our study holidays but that schedule rarely
happens. At least you could collect the materials (notes) for the important
topics and the previous year’s question papers during your study holidays.
- Never go with the book while preparing for the semester exams, always go with the syllabus. Draft an agenda for yourself on what to be prepared based on the syllabus.
- Literally each unit has a couple of ‘examiner’s favorite’ question which appears in all the previous year question papers. Master that! ;)
- On preparing the agenda, don’t include all the topics, an agenda should only consist of the important stuffs in the curriculum. How do you know it is an important topic? That you can find in the objective of each unit. Prepare accordingly!
- Choose your best time to study. Some prefer the morning while others choose the night. Whichever is comfortable for you is fine! A sound sleep before you start is advisory since you don’t want to end up sleeping once you open the book. Do you?
- Nothing compares to a friend’s quick lecture, a couple of hours before the exam. Those 2 hours before the exam is the time when you can load your brain. Utilize it.
- Finally before entering the exam hall, quickly go through ‘your’ (made by you) notes on the important topics and the formula chart. That will make you recall things faster!
In the exam hall:
- Initially choose to answer the familiar questions. Do answer all the necessary questions.
- If you don’t know the answer for any question, try to relate and bring out the author in you! :P
- Draw the circuits, write the coding and put up the diagrams wherever it is necessary.
- Make sure to write for about 34 to 38 pages.
- Each 16 mark should have 4 sides of answer (minimum).
- Make sure to use Color pens to differentiate important points (Black& Blue).
- Even if you don't know the answer for any of the question, give a try so that there are chances for mere attempt.
- If you have nothing to write kindly write any of your known answer's with the given question as title since answers differ in each book ;) Become your own author, chances are there you could get good grades.
- If you have had an exam in morning and have less time for your noon exam kindly don't skip it. If it's a programming paper just mug-up 5 programs from each units which consists of all subroutines, class etc and you will surely clear.
- For math related paper's just prepare 2 reputed topics from each unit i.e. 10 model and you can easily get 65% above.
These few tips
might help you score in your exams! Prepare well and rock on!
All the best Mr. /Miss.
