Job Designation:Technical Support Engineer

Job Description:
  • Provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, complex software, or networked and/or wireless systems. 
  • Responds to situations where firstline product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. 
  • Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering. 
  • May be involved in customer installation and training. Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.
Required Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication with strong C programming skills and OS Concepts.

Knowledge, Skills& Abilities Required: 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Keen sense of ownership of technical issues of McAfee's enterprise customersAbility to generate progress reports on cases ownedBe a team player with ability to stretch time-wise when requiredAbility to work in high-pressure environment without compromising on quality. 
  • Skills in planning, organizing, and adapting within a multi-tasking environment.
  • Willing to work in night shiftsAbility to participate in technical forums and provide inputsAbility to come up with innovative solutions, and document them. 
  • Coaching and mentoring.Have the aptitude and patience to update cases with well-written activity reports on a regular-basis and maintain case documentationGenerate whitepapers / technical documents towards knowledge managementLiaise with higher levels of technical support for escalations & troubleshootingcustomer issuesPerforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedKnowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
  • Technical Skills: 
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS XP, 7, 8, Server Platforms - 2003, 2008, 2012 Strong knowledge of Windows Server platforms Win 2003, 2008, 2012 Excellent troubleshooting skills on Windows OSShould have strong understanding of Windows troubleshooting / Sys-internal toolsGood understanding of Windows Server Security technologies. 
  • Good knowledge of SQL Database Should be able to interpret various Windows logs, dumps etc.Strong knowledge on Security, Threats and Vulnerabilities.
  • Have good understanding of IPS, IDS, Firewall Experience working with Windows Server OS Administration, Active Directory Services, Network Security Knowledge on non-Windows OS, like Linux, MAC preferred.
